The first environmental protection industry alliance in the lead-acid battery industry was established on May 12th. The first domestic lead-acid battery industry alliance, the Shanghai Lead Acid Battery Environmental Protection Industry Alliance, was officially established in Shanghai. The alliance is committed to establishing a cross industry and cross regional lead-acid battery environmental protection industry alliance (upstream and downstream industry chain) in the Shanghai region. Relying on the self-discipline and green environmental protection initiatives of the alliance, it aims to create an innovative system for the distribution and recycling of lead-acid batteries in Shanghai, and achieve green environmental management throughout the life cycle of lead-acid batteries.
This industry was jointly initiated and established by the Alliance Shanghai Nonferrous Metals Industry Association, Zhejiang Battery Industry Association, Shanghai Circulation Economy Research Institute, and Shanghai Xinyun Precious Metals Recycling Co., Ltd. Currently, the alliance members include more than 20 enterprises such as Zhejiang Tianneng Group, Chaowei Group, Anhui Huaxin Lead Industry Group, covering the entire industry chain of lead-acid batteries, including production, sales, logistics distribution, use, recycling, and reuse.
The President of the Alliance, Zhang Minxiang, stated that the Alliance hopes to transform the disorderly recycling of waste lead-acid batteries in Shanghai into orderly recycling through efforts. Within three years, we aim to achieve a legal recycling rate of over 80% for waste lead-acid batteries, improve the overall level of environmental protection and comprehensive utilization of lead-acid batteries, and promote the construction of a complete lead-acid battery industry chain and a mature and healthy market system in China.
