Charging rate: The magnitude of the charging current of a battery under certain conditions is called the charging rate. The commonly used charging rate is a 10 hour rate, which means that the charging time takes 10 hours before reaching the final charging period. When shortening the charging time, the charging current must be increased, otherwise, the charging current can be reduced. Discharge rate: The speed at which a battery discharges to its final voltage under certain conditions is called the discharge rate. The magnitude of discharge current is expressed in terms of time rate and current rate. Usually, a 10 hour rate is used as the discharge current. Put the capacity of the battery to the final voltage within 10 hours. End voltage: The critical voltage at which the battery terminal voltage drops sharply after discharge. If discharged again, it will damage the battery. At this point, the battery terminal voltage is called the end voltage. Different discharge rates have different discharge end voltages, with U terminal=1.66+0.0175h, where h is the discharge hourly rate. If a 1-hour discharge rate is used, U terminal=1.66+0.0175 × 1=1.68V. If a 10 hour discharge rate is used, U terminal=1.66+0.0175 × 10=1.835V. Internal resistance (R) of the battery: The terminal voltage (U) and current flowing through the load (I) measured after the battery is connected to the load, at which point the internal resistance (R) of the battery is (E-U)/I. The internal resistance of a battery should include the resistance of the positive and negative plates, separator (membrane), electrolyte, and connectors. The smaller the internal resistance of the battery, the larger the capacity of the battery. Battery electromotive force (E): The terminal voltage between the positive and negative terminals of a battery measured without a load, that is, the voltage at the positive and negative terminals when the battery is open circuit. The main indicators of a battery include electromotive force, internal resistance, final voltage, discharge rate, charge rate, and cycle life.
